The Castle barracks
- The castle barracks is located next to Vanajavesi. Other side, area ends to Tampereentie.
- 500m from the city of Hämeenlinna
- Buildings are surrounded by large park area.
- area splits two sides North and south.
- North area is mostly woodbuildings built in 1800’s
- South area is the red brick buildings, built between1850-1910
- South areas last part of the castle barracks is Hämeen castle

- This barrackarea is one of the most important barracks in Finland
- Medieval Hämeen castle
- After Birger Jaarli came to crusade they linked Häme to Sweden.
- The Castles building started late in 1200’s
- Place was perfect for business because of the vanajavesi. Vanajavesi goes to Kokemäen river and by thtat you can go to Gulf of Bothnia.
- And also because of Finlands main road Hämeen Härkätie.
- Hämeen castles most important constructions is built in medieval (1200-1520)
- Nowadays the castle is open for public. There is guided tours also.

Region history
- Castle barracks construction started 1848
Hämeenlinna got rights of a city in 1639. That time city was in the place of the castle barracks
- Hämeencastle burned in 1831
- year 1777 Kustaa third moved city to its current place.
Hämeenhärkätie and Vanajavesi is the two most important routes why Hämeenlinna was founded.
